Where was Wendy born.....

Born in Wallasey, Cheshire at the end of 1944, Wendy immigrated to Western Australia with her husband and two young sons in 1974, where she was employed as a Psychiatric Nurse for 30 years. After the loss of her husband she moved to a small Cray fishing village several hours north of Perth. During walks along the pristine beach, she often enjoyed sightings of Humpback whales, seals resting on the rocks, and pods of dolphins playing in the Marina.

Then, retirement....

After retirement, she continued her love of writing – winning several awards for short stories and self-publishing two books, one on backpacking around South America in her early fifties and the other on how to self-publish to Amazon.
Becoming a member of the Society of Women Writers of Western Australia allowed her to indulge in her passion, and at present she is a contributing editor to an online members Writer’s Circle (Odyssey) as well as co-ordinating five of the Societies other Circles. Annual writing retreats and a monthly meeting have become a pleasant part of life.
Anything creative that catches her eye is a source of new learning, paper quilling, steampunk mixed media, book sculpture, toilet paper art, mixed media portraits – all adorn the walls of the house she shares with her dog – a Bull Arab/Australian Pig dog. Bred to bring down wild boar, Sukki somehow missed the lessons on aggression, and heads for the surrounding Perth hills if so much as a cat glares back at her. However, she is a great companion on daily bush and beach walks, and will listen attentively to new story ideas.
